An interviewer typing notes is an interviewer not listening. They miss the follow-up worth asking, they write down what was easy to capture rather than what mattered, and the notes they produce are unreadable to anyone else a week later.

Common questions
Do candidates have to be told they are being recorded?
Yes — tell them, and get their agreement. Beyond being the right thing to do, notice and consent requirements vary by jurisdiction and some are strict. Take legal advice for the countries you hire in.
What if a candidate declines to be recorded?
Run the interview without it. You can paste written notes instead; you lose transcript-grade analysis but keep the structure.
Does it join my video calls as a bot?
No. You paste the transcript your video tool already produces, or record in-person interviews directly.
