Blind screening
Blind screening removes identifying details — name, photo, education, sometimes employer — from applications before review, to reduce the influence of demographic signals on shortlisting decisions.
Evidence is mixed and context-dependent. It reliably reduces bias at the CV-review stage, and has no effect on interviews unless anonymity is maintained, which is rarely practical.
It is best understood as one intervention at one stage, not a solution to bias across a process.
