Candidate rejection
Candidate rejection is the process of declining a candidate. Done well it is prompt, clear, and where a candidate has invested significant time, offers something specific. Done badly — silence — it is the single most cited candidate experience failure.
Specific feedback carries some risk and considerable goodwill. A common compromise is generic rejection at early stages and specific feedback for anyone who reached a final round.
