Compensation band
A compensation band is the pay range attached to a role and level. Published bands speed hiring and reduce inequity; unpublished ones shift advantage to whoever negotiates hardest, which correlates with confidence rather than contribution.
Pay transparency requirements are expanding across the EU and parts of the US, making published bands increasingly a compliance matter rather than a philosophical choice.
