Interview loop
An interview loop is the full sequence of interviews a candidate goes through for a role, including who they meet and what each stage assesses. A well-designed loop assesses each competency once, by whoever is best placed to judge it.
Loops grow by accretion — someone asks to meet candidates, a stage is added, nothing is ever removed. Periodically auditing what each stage uniquely assesses usually allows one to be cut without losing signal.
Each additional stage costs candidates in the market, particularly those with competing offers.
