Leading question

A leading question signals the answer the interviewer wants — "you've done a lot of stakeholder management, haven't you?" It produces agreement rather than evidence, and it is one of the most common ways an interview gathers no usable information.

The fix is mechanical: ask what happened rather than whether something happened. "Tell me about the most difficult stakeholder relationship you have managed" cannot be answered with a yes.

Leading questions cluster around requirements the interviewer hopes the candidate meets, which means they systematically fail to test the things that matter most.
